Biography:
Born in 1977, THE HOLDER is a DJ and French music producer. He started his musical career as a bassist at the age of 14. After having played in different Funk and Experimental bands, he discovers electronic music and Techno. Then, he decided to buy a pair of MKII and start doing his first DJ sets blending House and Techno. But few years he decided to stop doing music for 5 years… But he got back into production after having bought a laptop.
Being heavily influenced by Jazz and Soul Music, his first works are mainly Abstract Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop and Downtempo… under the alias of Henry Beat Maker. Those early works were sample based only, but they are more and more getting colored by electronic sounds and machines (groovebox and other hardware).
But it’s his meeting with Ooze in 2011 that allows him to present a radioshow, getting him back behind the decks. So he decided to start doing shows again under the alias of Zombicat, and changed for ” THE HOLDER ” and release his first Minimal Techno tracks, while still keeping the Henry Beat Maker one.
After that, he started to form a duo called “Vinyl Is Dead” with Ooze and starts to be noticed for his punchy and eclectic mixes.
